Nutricanis grain-free/cereal-free dry food for dogs: species-appropriate nutrition using consistently high-quality ingredients

dry food for dogs

The light version of our Chicken & Peas recipe is ideal for dogs that expend less energy than most other dogs due to their age, breed, reduced activity, as a consequence of neutering or because of their individual nature. The significantly reduced fat content of just 9% helps your dog to stay in shape in the long term. However, less fat does not mean less meat: The high percentage of tasty chicken meat provides high-quality animal proteins (at least 25% of the recipe), which contribute to the preservation of your dog’s muscles.

Peas and potatoes are not just an excellent source of high-quality carbohydrates. The fibre contained in these nutritious vegetables also promotes digestion and a feeling of fullness. They contribute to optimum absorption of the valuable nutrients in our recipes for your dog. Vegetables contain vital vitamins. Peas in particular are rich in vitamin C and their abundant natural pigment, chlorophyll, is believed to have anti-carcinogenic qualities.

Potatoes provide valuable carbohydrates, fibre, and starch. They are also rich in vitamins such as vitamin C, vitamin K, and B vitamins. In addition, potatoes supply essential minerals such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, and zinc.

Peas have anti-inflammatory properties. They contain antioxidants such as alpha- and beta-carotene, which protect the body from free radicals. Peas are a good and well-tolerated source of energy. They provide high-quality fibre, which is important for digestion. The polyphenol contained in peas is believed to protect against cancer and vitamin K and B are important for the bones. Peas also contain phosphorus (important for the energy metabolism of the body's cells), thiamine, and potassium.

Chicken meat is rich in protein, low in fat, easy to digest, and contains relatively high levels of potassium, magnesium, and zinc. Potassium has a positive effect on the nerves and heart muscles, magnesium supports heart and muscle function, and zinc is good for the immune system. Chicken meat also contains B vitamins, including folic acid. B vitamins support bodily functions, particularly metabolic processes, healthy growth of the skin and coat, and blood formation.

Overweight dogs in particular will benefit from a strengthening of the joints. The carefully composed vital complex contains large amounts of the polyunsaturated fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6 in the beneficial ratio of 3:1. It promotes supple joints and reduces inflammation, which may play a role in osteoarthritis. Especially in ageing dogs, it can also help to maintain a glossy coat. The fatty acids in Nutricanis are obtained from fish oil and flaxseed, which are considered high-quality sources.

Chicken & Peas light contains important vegetable ingredients that provide valuable minerals and trace elements: magnesium, calcium, folic acid and iron. In Nutricanis, premium also means that the ingredient list contains some unusual elements because they are considered particularly beneficial to a dog’s health. These include Egyptian chamomile flowers, aniseed, hawthorn leaves and flowers, juniper berries, blueberries, seaweed and cleavers. Some of these contribute to an optimal metabolism and others – like the blueberries – contain cell-protecting antioxidants.

Of course, our Nutricanis quality assurance standards also apply to Chicken & Peas light. That is why you will not find any cheap fillers, artificial flavour enhancers, artificial preservatives, sugar or sweeteners in the recipe. We use only the best, well-tolerated ingredients.
